Fast Food restaurant Chick-fil-A is getting into the Holiday spirit with a fun new Facebook app called Family Holiday Activities. There’s plenty to explore and lots of suggestion for holiday fun but one of our favorite features is probably the simplest: cow quotes.
Chick-fil-A’s famous bovines are the brand’s unofficial spokes-cows – as well as the world’s most passionate (and self-interested) advocates for people to “eat more chikin.” The cows – and their child-like, faux-sneaky suggestions for a world without beef – are impossible not to adore, and the app features a host of new holiday-themed cow quotes, each one completely 
charming and ripe for sharing. Which is exactly the idea; one-click links to Twitter and Facebook allow you to instantly post a favorite cow quote as your status update. Simple, smart, sharable. Here are some of our favorites:

In addition to those adorable cows, the app also offers a number of family-focused holiday features. There’s a holiday quiz – which you can share with your Facebook friends – that determines if you’re a Holiday Hero, a Friend of the Frost or a Holiday Humbug. (Although, chances are, if you’re taking a holiday quiz online, you’re in no danger of the latter.)
And then there’s a curious feature called 10 Family Holiday Activities offers up suggestions for family fun in four different categories: “Outdoor Fun, Indoor Fun, Switch It Up Fun, and In the Car Fun.” We were surprised to find that none of these had an online component; clicking on any of the links simply downloaded a spiffy PDF with a list of family games for each category. While we liked the games – hey, we’re not opposed to a little offline interaction now and then – we thought there was a mi
ssed opportunity here to make at least one of the options a game you could play and share with friends online. Who doesn’t like a little social-mobile gaming on those holiday road trips, right?
All in all, though, the Family Holiday Activities app is a great idea that takes advantage of holiday togetherness to reinforce Chick-fil-A’s family friendly image. Not to mention a nice way to use its best ambassadors, those branded bovines, to spread some Christmas joy.
